“I tried to help but plane was fully engulfed,” one witness told WJZ. “I saw two people inside and started screaming for them, but no one was moving. I wish I could’ve done more.”

Police report 2 dead after plane crash on Kent Island

According to Maryland State Police (MSP) the crash happened at MD Route 8 and eastbound Rt. 50 after a small plane went upside down and flew into the ground.

Janet Metz, 56, worked as special events coordinator for Stuart for seven years before she retired earlier this year, City Manager Paul Nicoletti said. She moved to Ellicott City, Maryland, and was planning to marry in July, he said.
