According to police, around 4:00 a.m. a tractor-trailer carrying sliced apples was traveling on Rt. 27 when it went through an intersection and struck a car. Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the crash.

State traffic and police say just after 4 a.m., a tractor trailer crashed into the car Vogle was driving at the Chapel Road intersection, causing both vehicles to catch fire. Vogle was a baker and owwner of Jeannie Bird Baking Company on Main Street in Westminster. The store has remained closed since her death.
