Elizabeth Velez, 36, died, nine others injured following a wrong-way multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County, Maryland

The preliminary investigation by MSP revealed that a white Mercedes SUV travelled southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270, toward the outer loop of I-495, when it crashed into a Lexus and a Nissan Pathfinder in Montgomery County, police said.

An investigation indicates the driver of a white Mercedes CLS 450, later identified as Jayleen Hannor, was going in the wrong direction on I-270 to the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway/Interstate 495.
