Jerome Odom killed and teen girl seriously injured in ATV crash at Walker Mill Road and Waterford Drive in Capitol Heights, Maryland

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (WUSA9) -- One adult man is dead, and one juvenile female is suffering critical injuries after a crash involving an ATV in Capitol Heights on Sunday evening. They were both transported to the hospital where the adult male was pronounced dead. Upon arrival, officers found a male and female suffering injuries. Police responded to the intersection of Walker Mill Road at Waterford Drive around 5:45 p.m. for reports of a car collision. Police said  the SUV was attempting to turn left onto Waterford Street when the ATV collided with the SUV. The driver and passenger were ejected from the ATV. Walker Mill Road is closed between Longleaf Road and Shady Glen Drive.

County police spokesman Officer Harry Bond says the crash occurred Sunday evening at Walker Mill Road and Waterford Drive in the Capitol Heights area. Bond says preliminary information indicates that the SUV was trying to turn left onto Waterford when the crash occurred, throwing the man and girl from the ATV. They were taken to a hospital, where police say the man died.

WASHINGTON — A man is dead and his 12-year-old stepdaughter is in the hospital after an ATV and an SUV collided in Prince George’s County on Sunday night. The man was driving his ATV on Walker Mill Road in Capitol Heights Sunday at about 6 p.m. when an SUV turned in front of him. He was taken to a trauma center, where he died; she was airlifted to a hospital and is in critical condition.
