Woman Killed in Hit-And-Run in Forestville

A woman has died following a hit-and-run in Forestville, Maryland, Tuesday morning. Police say the victim was struck in the area of Pennsylvania Avenue near the Beltway just after 8 a.m. There is no description of the striking vehicle. The victim's name and age have not been released. The ramp from the inner loop of the Beltway to Route 4 southbound is closed at this time.

Police search for truck in fatal hit-and-run on Md. Route 4 - WTOP

WASHINGTON — Police are searching for a garbage truck they say is involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Md. Prince George’s County police say the crash occurred just before 7:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 4 at the Beltway. All lanes on southbound Route 4 between Forestville Road and the Beltway were blocked, as well as the on-ramp to the Inner Loop of the Beltway, while police investigated. Police say the striking vehicle, described as a green or blue garbage truck with red lettering and “fresh damage” to the passenger side, fled the scene after hitting another car with one occupant inside.

Police search for garbage truck in fatal hit-and-run in Prince Georges County

Police in Prince George’s County said they are looking for a garbage truck that they think was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on the Capital Beltway near MD 4 in the Forestville area. It’s possible that the garbage truck driver didn’t even know the crash had happened, since the truck is so much larger than Ahmed’s vehicle, police said Tuesday afternoon. Police said she had just exited the Beltway and was headed onto Pennsylvania Avenue when her vehicle and the trash truck collided, causing her to hit a pole. Parts of the Beltway were closed Tuesday morning as authorities investigated the crash. Investigators asked anyone with information about the collision to call 301-731-4422.

Driver Killed When Pickup Truck, Trash TruckCrash

FORESTVILLE, Md. (AP) — Prince George’s County Police say a woman was killed when the pickup truck she was driving crashed with a trash truck in Forestville. Police say 37-year-old Ghada Ahmed of Upper Marlboro had just gotten off I-495 when her pickup truck made contact with a trash truck on Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers are looking for the trash truck and its driver. Investigators say the trash truck left the scene. Police say the driver might not have known the truck was involved in a collision.
