One Dead In Multiple Vehicle Crash On I-81 In Washington Co.
At about 5:00 p.m. today, troopers were called to the scene of a crash on northbound I-81 at exit 6. Troopers found seven vehicles, including a tractor trailer, were involved in the crash.
One fatality has been confirmed. Five other people were transported for injuries. One person was flown by Maryland State Police medevac helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Four others were transported by ambulance to Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

John Royce Richards, 69, of Great Cacapon, W.Va., was driving his tractor trailer northbound about 4:45 p.m. and crashed into multiple other vehicles after failing to control his speed to avoid them, according to a state police press release.
