Woman seriously injured after crash involving Metrobus

BELTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash Wednesday evening involving a Metrobus, a Prince George's County fire official said. A Metro spokesperson said at least 10 passengers were on the bus at the time of the accident. The bus was heading towards Calverton, Md., the Metro spokesperson said. According to the official, the woman was trapped after the car she was driving collided with an R2 bus heading northbound on Powder Mill Road. The accident happened near the intersection of Powder Mill and Pleasant Acres Drive.

Metro bus involved in serious crash in Prince Georges County

A car and Metro bus collided in the Hyattsville area, trapping the driver of the car and injuring six passengers on board the bus. Prince George’s County fire department spokesman Mark Brady said that rescuers extricated the driver of the car and were transporting the woman to a trauma center. He said that there 10 people on the bus at the time that it collided with the car. Brady did not know what caused the crash, which happened at the intersection of Powder Mill Road and Pleasant Acres Drive. Metro did not immediately respond to a request for information.
