Two men dead after fatal head-on crash near Landover metro in Prince George’s.
Two men, identified as Daryl Deon Davis 18, and O'Sha Marquis Allen 21, are dead after a taxi cab and another vehicle crashed head-on, splitting one of the cars in two just outside the entrance to the Landover metro station in Prince George’s County.
The crash happened at about 11:15 a.m. at Pennsy Drive and Old Landover Road, fire officials said. Prince George’s County police tweeted that the crash does not appear to be weather related.
Both the taxi and the other vehicle were travelling in opposite directions when the incident occurred, but it is still unclear what triggered the collision, said a spokesman for the county fire department.
“The car with the two male occupants fell backwards into a drainage ditch,” a spokesman said “The two parts of the car were separated by about 20 to 25 feet.”
Both men were still in the car when rescue crews arrived. One was pronounced dead at the scene, and the other man died shortly after being taken to a trauma center. The driver of the taxi cab was also taken to a trauma center with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
Prince George’s County police are investigating. The names of the victims have not yet been released as officials are still trying to notify their families.
