Police say a possible drag race may have led to the death of a juvenile pedestrian in Rockville Friday afternoon. Montgomery County police were called to the crash involving two cars and two pedestrians on Muncaster Mill Road between Shady Grove Road and Woodfield Road at approximately 3 p.m. Both drivers were juvenile, police said. The two cars were traveling north on Muncaster Mill Road, which merged from two lanes into one lane, causing the collision. One of the cars went off the road and hit two of three juvenile pedestrians. Police say one pedestrian died in the crash, and the second is in critical but stable condition in the hospital. Police are investigating whether the collision was related to drag racing. The two drivers and one passenger in one of the cars were transported to the hospital. They're expected to be OK. Muncaster Mill Road is closed in both directions pending an investigation.
