2 women killed as rideshare vehicle rear-ended near Zakim Bridge in Boston

Two women are dead after the rideshare vehicle they were passengers in was rear-ended by a tow truck near the Zakim Bridge in Boston, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

State police said the crash happened on Interstate 93 north between Exit 19 and Exit 20.

A Kenworth tow truck was driving north on I-93 when a 2007 Lexus RX400H SUV ride share vehicle driving in front of the tow truck slowed and was rear-ended by the truck.

Delanie Fekert, 25, of Floral Park, New York, and Urashi Mandani, 25, of North Andover were in the back seat of the Lexus. They were trapped inside the car and pronounced dead at the scene, State Police said.

A spokesperson for Quinnipiac University in Hamden confirmed on Monday that Fekert and Madani graduated from the school in 2021 with physical therapy degrees, CT Insider reported
