5 taken to hospital after Falmouth crash

Five people were taken to the hospital following a single-car accident late Saturday night on Route 151.

Police responded to the accident in the area of Cloverfield Way at 11:43 p.m., according to Falmouth police.

The vehicle left the roadway before striking a guardrail and a utility pole and coming to rest on its roof down an embankment, according to Karl.

The five occupants were taken to Falmouth Hospital by ambulances from the Falmouth and Mashpee fire departments.

Power was disrupted to some homes in the area and Route 151 was closed briefly until debris could be removed from the road.

The accident is under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
