The victim of a car crash earlier this week on Cape Cod has been identified as a longtime area resident who recently moved back after living for years in Rhode Island.

Police say a Rhode Island man has died after his pickup truck struck a tree on Cape Cod.

Police say a Rhode Island man has died after his pickup truck struck a tree on Cape Cod.

The 50-year-old Woonsocket, R.I., man, later identified as Ronald Conn, died at a hospital after the crash in Falmouth at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The Falmouth fire dept. said the impact was on the truck’s driver’s side and the vehicle as wrapped around the tree. It took rescuers nearly 45 minutes to extract the driver.

The driver, the only occupant of the truck, had multiple injuries and his condition deteriorated when he was freed.

The cause remains under investigation.
