Man Seriously Injured In Saugus Fireworks Accident

A home in Saugus where a fireworks accident seriously injured a man (WBZ) SAUGUS (CBS) '€” A man was seriously wounded in a Fourth of July fireworks accident in Saugus on Saturday night. The incident happened on Oak Point Road at about 10 p.m. The man in his 20s was medflighted to a Boston hospital. RELATED: Police Say Maine Man Dies After Trying To Launch Firework Off Head '€œThe preliminary indication is that he was in the process of lighting a firework that then exploded in his hand,'€ State Fire Marshal Steve Coan told WBZ NewsRadio 1030. No arrest have been made in the incident. '€œThey are inherently dangerous,'€ Coan said. '€œI would ask people to be extremely cautious and not to engage in lighting off consumer fireworks.'€ Coan said there are several ongoing investigations into incidents across the state where fireworks may have sparked fires.
