Maya Michelle Horton killed, other driver arrested after car crash.

A 19-year-old Clinton Township woman was killed when her car was struck by another vehicle in Harrison Township on Thursday night, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said today. Maya Michelle Horton was pronounced dead at McLaren Macomb Hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The other driver, a 50-year-old man from Harrison Township, was arrested. Detectives will be seeking alcohol-related charges today with the prosecutor’s office. Authorities did not release his name. The Sheriff’s Office said the man was eastbound on Metropolitan Parkway in a 2003 Mercury Marauder when he hit Horton’s 2001 Taurus, which was heading north from Union Lake Road onto Metro Parkway about 8:15 p.m. Thursday. Horton may not have yielded to eastbound traffic, the Sheriff’s Office said.
