Officials trying to identify person killed in fiery Webster Township crash

Officials have not yet been able to identify the person, according to Sgt. Geoff Fox of the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office. "Due to the fire, neither the driver or vehicle have been identified," he said.

Cougill, a 2014 graduate of Pioneer High School, was born Feb. 18, 1996, in Charleston, Illinois.

A person was driving a vehicle near Strawberry Lake Road when they struck a tree and burst into flames. Fire crews were able to contain the blaze, but the person inside was declared dead at the scene. No other people appeared to be involved. The crash is still under investigation.
