Detroit police sergeant seriously injured after he is struck by a woman driving a van, at Majestic and Mansfield Streets in Detroit

A Detroit police sergeant is in stable condition after being struck by a van in a hit-and-run accident on the city’s west side Wednesday afternoon. A police spokesman said the officer was conducting an investigation around 4:20 p.m. at Majestic and Mansfield Streets when he was hit by a woman driving a van. The driver fled in the vehicle after hitting the officer, but was arrested a few blocks away from where the accident happened, Woody said.
