The freeway was closed down for several hours for the investigation.
It was about 10:15pm when Hanna's eastbound vehicle became inoperable on I-94, and he left it parked in the shoulder as he attempted to cross the freeway on foot. As he was trying to cross the westbound lanes, he was hit by a car and killed on impact.
