Boy, 14, arrested after chase, crash involving stolen car

Authorities say a 14-year-old boy driving a stolen car led a sheriff's deputy on a chase at speeds reaching about 70 mph before the car rolled and crashed. The Macomb County sheriff's department says a deputy patrolling in Mount Clemens around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday saw the driver disregard a flashing red traffic signal. The deputy tried to stop the car, which sped from the area and soon struck a curb and crashed. The driver fled on foot and sheriff's deputies along with Clinton Township police searched the area, finding a 14 year-old Clinton Township boy hiding beneath a pool deck.
