When the motorcycle struck the deer, investigators say, the man was thrown from the bike. A short time later, as the man was lying in the roadway, he was hit by a car, officials said.

Bryan W. Jones, 57, of Ypsilanti Township, was killed in the crash about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday on Wiard Road at Tyler Road in Ypsilanti Township, said Washtenaw County Sheriff's Lt. Keith Flores.

"We are all devastated here at 14A District Court and cannot imagine the pain and grief she and his family are living through," Tabbey said. "We are never promised tomorrow, but Lisa and Bryan deserved more time together."
