Pilot escapes serious injury after small plane crash

An experienced pilot escaped serious injuries when his single engine airplane crashed in Mt. Morris Township, Tuesday morning.

An experienced pilot flying a Cessna 150 had just taken off from Dalton Airport when his engine started to go out. He made a crash landing on a vacant property, totaling the plane. When  a local found him, he was coherent and his only apparant injury was a cut on his head. No one else was aboard the plane. The pilot was taken to Hurley Medical Center for treatment.
