Husband and wife in their 80's killed, one other person injured, after two car crash on snowy roadway in Ottawa County.

Two people died and a third was hurt after two vehicles collided Friday afternoon on an Ottawa County road. The wreck happened around 1 p.m. on Apple Drive near State Road in Crockery Township, just west of Nunica. A couple were traveling west in a Honda CRV when the driver lost control of the vehicle, regained control, but lost it again. The vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound pickup truck hauling a trailer, police said. A husband and his wife, both in their 80s and from the Nunica area, were in the Honda. They died at the scene. The driver and lone occupant in the pickup truck suffered minor injuries. Police said the road was slushy at the time and may have been a factor in the Honda driver losing control of the vehicle.
