Police were notified of the crash shortly before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the intersection of 14 Mile Road and Northland Drive NE in Courtland Township.

Investigators determined that Huizinga's 2013 Chevy Traverse was westbound on M-57 when it attempted to make a left turn onto Northland Drive. Police said she failed to yield to an eastbound semi, which struck her vehicle.
