Ottawa County deputies say 56-year-old John Pastunink was riding on the business loop on I-196 and 88th Avenue when the vehicle hit him.

He had been part of a group called "Dirt Dads," a mountain biking group. He had participated in an annual ride in early November called the Iceman Cometh Challenge, a mountain bike ride form Kalkaska to Traverse City.
