Michael Orlando, 59, killed in collision between snowmobile and pickup on M-94 in Schoolcraft County, Michigan

SCHOOLCRAFT COUNTY — Troopers with the Michigan State Police are investigating a fatal snowmobile accident that occurred Friday night in Schoolcraft County. A snowmobile trying to cross M-94 drove into the path of a pickup truck. The snowmobile rider was taken to Munising Memorial Hospital, where they were pronounced dead due to injuries they sustained in the crash. The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. on M-94 at the snowmobile trail crossing known as N. Haywire Grade. The driver and passenger in the pickup truck were not injured.
