A 25-year-old woman died after her car collided with a train in Independence early Saturday morning, according to the West Hennepin Public Safety Department.

A 25-year-old woman died after her car collided with a train in Independence early Saturday morning, according to the West Hennepin Public Safety Department.

Authorities say Paulina Lang, of Buffalo, was alone when a train crashed into her compact car at an intersection off Highway 12 at northbound County Road 92 around 1:15 a.m., authorities say.

Authorities say Lang had gone around flashing warning gates at the crossing to make a right hand turn to go north on CR-92 when the 2013 Chevrolet Spark she was driving was hit by a westbound Burlington North Santa Fe train.

Authorities say Lang died at the scene.

There were no injuries to train crew members, authorities say.

Authorities say this is the second crash they've responded to at the site in a month.
