Victim of deadly Bolton crash identified
MHP is investigating what caused him to lose control.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to reports of a crash at around 4:45 a.m. Thursday on I-20. A white GMC Envoy, driven 68-year-old Richard Atkinson of Jackson, was eastbound when he lost control and ran into the median. Atkinson overcorrected back onto the roadway and flipped, which caused him to be ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt.
