Officer Chase Beamon injured taken to hospital, one other officer slightly injured, after a police motorcycle crashs in Brandon.

The City of Brandon experienced two incidents this morning involving Brandon Police Department units. The first incident involved a motorcycle officer. The single accident occurred at approximately 8:31 am in the westbound lane of Government St./Hwy 80, near the I-20 over pass. Officer Chase Beamon was transported to University Medical Center via American Medical Response Ambulance. The officer is responsive and is currently being treated. The other accident involved an investigator responding from the Police Department to the motorcycle accident. The accident occurred near 1455 West Government St. This incident occurred at approximately 8:33pm. That officer was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
