11-year-old takes grandfather’s SUV, crashes near Edwards, police say
"After further investigation, it was determined that the 11-year-old boy took his grandparents' 1996 red Chevy Blazer for a ride to visit a friend around 3 a.m. In an attempt to get back home before anyone discovered his plan, the 11-year-old driver lost control of the Chevy Blazer on the frontage road near Edwards," Hinds County Sheriff Victor Mason said in a news release.
