A flight student and instructor are recovering from minor injuries they sustained when their small plane crash landed on to a building’s roof in Vicksburg on Friday.

Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong says the plane went down after experiencing engine problems.

The student and teacher tried to turn around and go back to the Vicksburg Municipal Airport but didn’t make it. The plane ended up on the roof of Cooper Lighting.

That building is right next to the airport, and there’s damage to the roof.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
