Plane crash in Boonville kills pilot; 3 injured

Rogers says the plane had left Salina earlier in the week and was on its way back from Boonville.

The passenger stated that the airplane eventually "stalled completely", about 250 feet above the ground, as the pilot prepared for a forced landing; however, the passenger did not recall the airplane impacting terrain.
The pilot has died and three passengers are injured after a small-plane crash near the Boonville, Missouri, airport. The pilot, Charles Sojka of Salina, Kansas, was killed in the crash that happened around 9 a.m. Sunday. The three passengers were taken to University Hospital in Columbia. Their conditions weren’t known Sunday evening. Sojka was a flight instructor at Sojka Aviation. Check back for more information as it becomes available.
