Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a 61-year-old woman Wednesday night and kept driving.
Family members identified the woman as Sophia Broadway. They said she lived near the intersection where the incident happened.

Police said the woman was crossing Troost Avenue near 81st Street, east to west, when she was struck by a person driving northbound. The driver of the vehicle then left the scene.

Accident investigators responded to 82nd Terrace and Troost regarding a pedestrian involved collision. Investigation determined that a pedestrian was crossing Troost when she was struck by a northbound vehicle, which then left the scene. The victim, identified as a 61-year-old KCMO woman, died at the scene.
