The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2020 Ram 5500 driven by Gary C. Varner, 24, Blackwell, Oklahoma, was eastbound on U.S. 36 three miles east of Chillicothe. The Ram was in the passing lane attempting to overtake a 2019 Freightliner semi driven by Richard B. Cook, 59, Statesville, North Carolina.
