According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash occurred on June 2, 2024, at 4:10 p.m., eight miles west of Centerville. A 13-year-old juvenile was driving a 1998 Yamaha, headed west on a private road, when the vehicle struck wood debris, causing it to go airborne. The debris injured the 14-year-old passenger when it hit her and caused the driver to crash the vehicle.
