The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 7:00 p.m. on northbound Interstate 55 at the 85.6 mile marker as the northbound vehicle driven by 20-year-old Audrey Smith, of Bridgeton, swerved to miss an animal in the road, ran off the road, and struck a tree.

Smith, of Bridgeton, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others — 19-year-old Mallory Carter, of Brighton, Illinois, and Andrew Marzuco, 20, of Sainte Genevieve, Missouri, also died at the site of the crash.
