1-year-old boy killed in car crash that left two dead in Lincoln County
A traffic report indicates 42-year-old Shanna D. Cook, of Millington, Tennessee, was traveling eastbound on Highway 47 and crossed the center line hitting a second vehicle nearly head-on.
Two die and two seriously injured in two-vehicle crash
Shanna D. Cook, 42, of Millington, Tenn., was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban east on Highway 47 when she crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country driven by Corey C. Manitia of Winfield, Mo., according to the patrol. Manitia's vehicle had two occupants, Destiny D. Manitia, 21, and 1-year-old Parker L. Manitia, all of Winfield.
Father of baby killed in Lincoln County crash has also died
A third person has died of injuries in a weekend car crash in Lincoln County. Police say Corey C. Mantia, 22, of Winfield, died at Mercy Hospital St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. He is the father of the 1-year-old boy who died at the scene of Saturday's crash.
Triple fatal crash renews call for change
Many who live in the area call the crash site a death trap. The accident happened on Highway 47 in Lincoln County, near Gerding Road.
Even the Missouri Department of Transportation calls the roadway a problem. Improving the highway was on a list of projects MoDot wanted to fund, had voters approved a new sales tax in August. Following this latest tragedy, some are calling on the state to find another way.

Cook was pronounced dead at the scene, as was a 1-year-old baby in the other car, Parker L. Mantia. According to police, the driver of that vehicle, Corey Mantia, 22, and passenger Destiny D. Mantia, 21, sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. Corey Mantia later died of his injuries. A 'go fund me' account has been set up to pay for the Mantia family funerals.
