Man dies in crash on icy roads east of Kalispell

Both individuals were wearing their seatbelt, and alcohol or drugs are not suspected to be a factor. The crash is under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol and more information is available from them.
A collision between a Ford Ranger pickup and a Toyota pickup at about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday on Montana 35 killed Ernest William Thureno, 62, of Kalispell. A 40-year-old Kalispell man driving the other pickup suffered serious injuries. The crash happened in the eastbound lane of Montana 35, but troopers are still trying to identify which direction each pickup was heading. Thureno was pronounced deceased at the crash site. The male driver of the other vehicle was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center by ambulance. His identity has not yet been released.
