Petro (Peter) Denysyuk, 24, killed, 26-year-old man injured, taken to hospital, after two motorcyclists riding together collide on South Folsum Street in Lincoln.

A 24–year–old Lincoln man is dead after a crash Sunday involving two motorcycles.

It happened shortly after 4:00 p.m. on S. Folsom between the Folsom Bypass and W. Prospector Streets.

Police say Petro (Peter) Denysyuk died at the scene.

Authorities say the two men were riding together, heading north on Folsom when Denysyuk's friend lost control, sending both off the road. Both men were thrown from their bikes.

"Both were wearing helmets," Officer Katie Flood said. "We are looking into whether speed was a factor or if they were racing."

The second victim, a 26–year–old Lincoln man, was taken to the hospital with several broken bones and a broken pelvis but is expected to survive.

Police continue to investigate.
