The Latest: Slippery road blamed for crash that killed 4

In eastern Nebraska, authorities blamed speed and slippery pavement for a Tuesday morning collision between a pickup truck and semitrailer that killed four people on Interstate 80.

Ice likely a factor in deadly Nebraska Interstate crash

Nebraska State Patrol said a pickup truck driver was headed eastbound around 7:15 a.m. when the individual lost control on black ice on the bridge at mile marker 363 between Utica and Waco.

4 people killed in I-80 crash east of York are identified

The York County Sheriff’s Office said the pickup truck carrying the four was eastbound when Mario Garcia lost control of the pickup, which crossed the median and entered the westbound lanes. There, it was struck by a semitrailer truck.
