Ryan Dela Cruz, 24, dies in head-on collision with semitrailer on U.S. Highway 50 in Syracuse, Nebraska

A Tecumseh man has died in a head-on collision on a highway south of Syracuse. Investigators say he wasn't wearing a seat belt. The semitrailer driver was wearing a seat belt and had minor injuries. Dela Cruz's sedan was knocked back toward a road intersection, and the semitrailer went into a ditch east of the highway. Otoe County Sheriff's office says 24-year-old Ryan Dela Cruz drove his southbound car over the center line on U.S. Highway 50 and collided with a semitrailer just after 8 a.m.
