Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash involving two cars along eastbound Summerlin Parkway at Rampart Boulevard.

According to troopers, the crash happened at around 4:11 p.m. Wednesday, when a black pickup truck crossed from the westbound lanes, over the center median and into eastbound traffic.

The truck crashed head on into a white Toyota Corolla. The female driver, later identified as Savanna Gonzales 20, and the male passenger in the car, identified as Frank Anthony Spenid III 31, were confirmed dead, NHP said. Troopers stated that both victims were from Las Vegas.

The third person, who was driving the truck, was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. NHP suspects the driver of the truck was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Eastbound Summerlin Parkway is closed for the investigation. The closure is expected to last several hours. Drivers are being diverted at Town Center Drive.
