Fatal driveway crash leaves 1 dead, 1 critical

Investigators said evidence at the scene shows that a 1997 Honda CBR was traveling southbound on Montello Avenue, when the driver tried to turn left and lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb. This caused the driver to veer into a driveway of a home and hit a 2003 Toyota Tacoma that was parked in the driveway of 40 Montello Avenue. Metro said there wasn't anyone on the motorcycle at the time of the crash.

Yeltsin Cardona, the 21-year-old driver of the motorcycle, was southbound on Montello turning left onto Arlington Street when he struck a curb and ran off the road, striking a 2003 Toyota Tacoma parked in front of 40 Montello, police said in a release.

One person dead after motorcycle hits parked car

The Clark County Coroner's office has identified the man that died in a Sunday morning motorcycle crash as 19-year-old Edgar Perez-Velazquez.
Police said the fatal wreck occurred early Sunday morning at around 5:44 a.m. west of Arlington Street. The driver of the motorcycle Yeltsin Cardona, 21, was taken to University Medical Center and is in critical condition. The passenger, Edgar Perez-Velazquez, was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither was wearing a helmet.
