Worker killed in construction accident at UNLV

In a statement released by the university, the worker was critically injured in an accident that happened at the Thomas and Mack Center just after 11 a.m. The worker was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The Clark County Coroner's Office later identified the worker as 27-year-old Joshua Richard Meade. His cause and manner of death remained pending, as of Wednesday afternoon. UNLV said an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident. Details of what happened were not immediately available. The university later elaborated a renovation project was taking place at the time.
