Driver dies after crash east of Las Vegas Strip

A driver who veered into the opposite lanes of traffic died after crashing into at least two vehicles just east of the Las Vegas Strip. According to Las Vegas Metro police, the incident took place at 7:02 a.m. Wednesday on East Tropicana Avenue, between Deckow Lane and Paradise Road. The driver of the Nissan Frontier sustained minor injuries while the other driver in the Mercedes-Benz van was not hurt, police said. Police said a 58-year-old driver, who was identified as Lazaro Valdes,was behind the wheel of a Lincoln Town Car that was traveling eastbound on Tropicana.
