Caroline Ferrin, 55, killed in crash with tractor trailer on June 11 on Route 35.

The township woman who was struck by a tractor-trailer Wednesday morning on Route 35 died at the hospital from her injuries, authorities said. Caroline Ferrin, 55, was hit by the truck traveling southbound on Route 35 at the intersection of West Park Avenue, Detective Lt. Kevin Faller said. Ferrin was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where she was pronounced dead at 11:35 a.m., Faller said. While the investigation is ongoing, Faller said the truck driver would not be charged with anything at this point. Route 35 southbound was closed at West Park Avenue for several hours as authorities investigated, and the roadway was reopened around noon, police said. Additional information is expected to be released later Wednesday.
