The crash took place at about 7:30 p.m. near milepost 18.4 in Bridgewater after the driver of a southbound vehicle maneuvered his vehicle off the left side of the highway to try to improperly pass another vehicle, according to State Police.

The Infiniti then traveled off the left side of the road to improperly pass the Nissan and after re-entering the roadway, the Infiniti struck the left front of the Nissan, Curry said.

Around 7:33 p.m. Tuesday, an Infiniti driven by 24-year-old Felipe Exposito-Sanches, of Linden, went off the left side of southbound I-287 while attempting to improperly pass a Nissan which it struck, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Philip Curry. The Infinity ran off the road to the right, up an embankment, and struck multiple trees, Curry said.
