Bicyclist critically injured in Route 22 crash in Branchburg, authorities say

Strub was riding a bicycle at about 5:35 a.m. Saturday eastbound in the fast lane of Route 22 near the intersection of Station Road when a 1997 Ford Expedition SUV driven by Lowell Henderson, 43, of Dunellen was heading eastbound on Route 22 and struck Strub on his bicycle, Halderman said. Sunrise on Saturday was not until 6:37 a.m.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries. The cause of the collision is being investigated.
