A 27-year-old Landing resident has been charged with death by auto for a Route 46 crash that killed a pedestrian, and that set the Landing man's car ablaze. Early Tuesday evening, members of the Roxbury Township Police Department responded to the area of 1903 Route 46 West in Ledgewood and found a male with apparent injuries who had been struck by a motor vehicle, acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp and Roxbury Township Police Chief James Simonetti said in a joint statement Wednesday. The vehicle that struck the male was engulfed in flames due to damage from the collision, the statement said. Its sole occupant was 27-year-old Samuel R. Generelli, it said. Judge Stuart A. Minkowitz set his bail on the second-degree charge at $100,000 cash, bond or property, with additional conditions, the statement said.
