APD: Driver flees after toddler ejected in car crash
In a case police called “complicated and heartbreaking,” a mother suspected of drunken driving fled after she crashed her SUV on the interstate Monday, ejecting an 18-month-old still in its car seat. A second child, 3, was also in the car, police say.

The 36-year-oild Vigil was found two miles from the crash. Police say she appeared intoxicated and was transported to a local hospital with a cut to her head. Authorities say a 3-year-old also was in the car. Tixier says Vigil will be charged with felony child abuse.
