Pedestrian critically injured when hit by car that fled the scene at Central Avenue and Texas Street in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Rebecca Atkins, a police spokeswoman, said a person was struck by the vehicle near Central and Texas SE at about 3 p.m. The pedestrian ran into the street and was hit by a Toyota Tacoma driving west on Central, Atkins said.
