NMSP: Body found in car was dead before U.S. 550 crash
The time and nature of the death is unknown and will be determined by the Office of the Medical Investigator. State police are investigating, processing the vehicle for evidence.
State police attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. 550 around 3:30 p.m., but the vehicle fled and then crashed into a concrete barrier and several other vehicles before coming to a stop. The driver and passenger were taken into custody. Police said they located a dead body in the vehicle, which was deceased before the collision. Criminal charges are pending.
